When the new season of NCIS premiered in the fall of 2022, there were doubts about the show’s ability to maintain its title with Gary Cole (who plays Alden Parker) at the helm.
The final ratings for the 2022-2023 television season have been released, and the top-rated shows have been identified.
Outside of this scale is the popular television show Yellowstone. The Kevin Costner vehicle is still a huge success.
Yellowstone, which airs on the Paramount Network, does not appear in these rankings, but each new episode draws an average of 11.5 million viewers.
What is the most-watched broadcast television show?
NCIS is once again the most-watched show on Nielsen.
Each new episode of NCIS Season 20 drew an average of 9.86 million viewers.
CBS also won the title of most-watched network, with eight of the top ten shows in overall viewership.
To round out the top five, FBI averaged 9.52 million viewers, Blue Bloods averaged 9.4, Young Sheldon had 9.25, and Chicago Fire had 9.25.
Ghosts was at 9.0, 60 Minutes was at 8.83, Chicago Med was at 8.46, Equalizer was at 8.38, and Fire Country was at 8.36.
This was the first season of Fire Country, and it’s easy to see why the network renewed the drama so quickly.
How did the NCIS spin-offs fare on television?
NCIS: Hawai’i had 7.53 million viewers per new episode on average, while NCIS: Los Angeles had 6.24 million.
This was the final season of NCIS: Los Angeles, and the ratings were very good for the Sunday evening time slot of 10/9c.

CBS has ordered NCIS Season 21 ahead of schedule, with new episodes set to air in the fall.
